Day-by-Day Plan

1. 1

   Day 1: Arrival in Colombo

   Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo. Transfer to hotel. Evening visit to Gangaramaya Temple and the Dutch Hospital precinct. Welcome dinner with Sri Lankan cuisine.

2. 2

   Day 2: Colombo to Sigiriya

   Morning drive to Sigiriya. Afternoon climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress — 1,200 steps to the summit with frescoes, mirror wall, and lion's paw entrance. Sunset views from the top. Overnight near Sigiriya.

3. 3

   Day 3: Sigiriya to Kandy

   Morning visit to Dambulla Cave Temple — five caves with over 150 Buddha statues. Drive to Kandy via a spice garden. Evening visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). Watch the traditional Kandyan dance performance.

   Day 4: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

   Morning drive through lush tea country to Nuwara Eliya — the Little England of Sri Lanka. Visit a working tea factory to see Ceylon tea processing. Explore the botanical gardens, Lake Gregory, and the colonial-era town. Cool mountain evening.

5. 5

   Day 5: Nuwara Eliya to Yala

   Morning at leisure in Nuwara Eliya. Drive to Yala National Park. Afternoon jeep safari in Yala — spot leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and crocodiles. Evening campfire at the lodge.

6. 6

   Day 6: Yala to Bentota

   Morning drive to Bentota — the beach paradise of Sri Lanka. Afternoon at leisure on Bentota Beach. Optional water sports — jet skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling. Evening sunset cruise on the Bentota River.

7. 7

   Day 7: Bentota to Colombo & Departure

   Morning visit to the turtle hatchery at Kosgoda. Drive to Colombo. Quick city tour — Pettah Market, Independence Square, and Galle Face Green. Transfer to airport for departure flight.
